						<p>Kaleidoscope is by design an organization that believes fully in the concept that leadership begins with oneself. How one intentionally moves through the world, what values one carries forward, where one pauses and where one accelerates all define an individual's personal leadership. Kaleidoscope as a mission-driven, social enterprise endeavors to demonstrate the highest principled leadership qualities demonstrated daily through action in addition to beliefs.</p>
						<p>Organizational leadership is no different. In today's complex and highly sophisticated social structures one must be decisive and thoughtful, must be inclusive and also authentic. Leadership therefore must be fair, firm, and friendly. It also should be consistent, collaborative, and transparent. From top to bottom leadership at Kaleidoscope whether it be volunteer or paid staff, councils or committees, vendors or presenters will be both an honored state of mind as well as an earned designation of highest regard.</p>
					<h2>Kaleidoscope's mission put simply:</h2>

						<li>Congregate innovators and change agents, providing a platform for their revolutionary systems, products or services to be promoted, celebrated and replicated.</li>
						<li>Increase environmental and social justice awareness, through a virtual on-line community and through dynamic conferences and workshops.</li>
						<li>Broadcast extraordinary examples of leaders, leadership, and courage in the restoration revolution, disseminating their efforts as widely as possible- posting case studies, blogs, pod-casts, etc.</li>
						<li>Remaining fresh, ever vigilant of the latest trends, ideas, and technology that are leading, not following, providing emergent sustainable concepts to an ever-growing curious and particular constituency.</li>

							<p>Ted Regan&#8217;s interest in international affairs began shortly after graduation from the Maine Maritime Academy. Regan spent a decade sailing as a Navigation Officer in the US Merchant Marine. His travels to remote ports in the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean and China Seas, and the Southern Atlantic Ocean gave him a balcony perspective to many unusual cultures and lifestyles. 

His passion for education led him to accept assignments as a sail schooner mate on the 90&#8217; Tabor Boy, and as a teacher in the classrooms of Gardiner, Biddeford, and Cape Elizabeth before embarking on an educational outreach sea kayak expedition from Maine to Florida in 1999.  

Upon successful completion of the sea kayak journey Regan co-founded Rippleffect, Inc. a youth development organization committed to learning adventures in living classrooms. Regan with the support of many in the southern Maine community bought, and protected in perpetuity, Cow Island transforming it into an ocean oasis for disadvantaged youth. Today, Cow Island, using only alternative energy sources is entirely off the grid and supports an intentional community of over 60 people daily. 

Retiring from Rippleffect in 2007, enroute to Graduate school, Regan stumbled into yet another calling- understanding and broadcasting the imperative that is the strained relationship between the environment and its inhabitants. Regan, electing to change personal/professional plans, in Kaleidoscope, has built an organization whose stated mission is to congregate and collaborate eco-warriors, thought provocateurs, and change activists at the vanguard of social change.</p>

							<p>A native of rural Maine having grown up in Cornish,  surrounded by forests, fields and the recreation rich Saco River Eben discovered early the value of easy access to the outdoors and through his mother, a school teacher, the importance of being a life-long reader and learner. Rarely is Eben seen without a book in hand, with the most recently book read being Apollo&#8217;s Fire  -which serves as a reminder of the vibrancy America once held, and the capacity for America to have the same passion again for a green restoration of our country.

More recently Eben&#8217;s creative talent have been deployed at Rippleffect a local youth development non profit acting as a lead Conservation Corp guide one summer and it&#8217;s head organic Chef the following year. 
	
Eben is graduating this spring with his third degree, a baccalaureate in Communication. As the Operations Director at Kaleidoscope we are certain this highly developed strength will prove pivotal in building the capacity of Kindle to be the leading go-to event for those seeking to grow their minds and green values.
